I've been into Metropolis a lot lately. I did some research, and found out that not long after writing Metropolis Thea Von Harbou, the author, joined the National Socialist German Worker's Party. I don't know why, but I'm pretty disturbed about that.

So much for "the mediator between the hand and the brain must be the heart."

Yeah, it's pretty disturbing. Her involvement with the Nazi party was likely the major reason that she and Fritz Lang divorced in 1934. Apparently, Metropolis was Hitler's favorite movie too. Fritz Lang was understandably very upset. I don't know what's worse, that Hitler seemed to take the movie at face value or that he had good taste in movies.

Es tut mir Leid. T_T

I can see where he'd be upset. Hitler also liked puppies and kids, too, so I guess there's no telling. ._.

Aw man, I'm conflicted now. I've based my entire life around hating things that Hitler liked. I don't know what to do now!

It's okay. Hitler failed getting into art school because he couldn't shade things coming from one particular light source and tried to obliterate dadaism and bauhaus because they weren't classical roman art. Well, he did the trying-to-obliterate bit later in life, but you get the point. |B

So basically, I should pay more attention to lightbulbs and the sun? That sounds reasonable. I knew there was a reason I'm marrying you.
