windows sucks

Dude, you can go to hell.

Before going to bed last night, I decided to install the new security patch. As it patched, I drifted off as I am prone to do. I woke up to the sound of my computer's fan revving at a crazy speed and looked up to see that windows had some trouble restarting. When I get everything loaded up, the screen is displaying at a rediculously small resolution and only displaying 4 colors. I couldn't change that no matter what I did. The only thing I can think of is either the patch screwed up the video driver, or there was some kind of hardware failure. Since my desktop is ach mein leiben, I was on my laptop. It appears that my laptop is now achtung kaput.

Why is it that I can have a moderately servicable Commodore 128 after twenty years (all it needs is a new monitor or the TV hookup) and a screwed up laptop after only 2?

I'll be out of action until I can get this fixed.
