Has anyone heard of these? Kat just turned me on to them, and I've decided that I desperately need one. They're voice software that recreates the human voice. The most popular ones are Japanese singing voices that people use to recreate anime and J-pop songs.

I want this. No, I need this. You see, I've downloaded Ableton Live last week, and have been working on remixing Nine Inch Nails songs as a way to learn the software. The goal is to make my own music with it, and I've got the idea of mixing my guitar and bass with electronic (largely 8-bit) sounds. Adding a completely natural sounding synthvoice on top of that, especially one that sounds exotic and completely different from mine can add layers of depth that I would otherwise be incapable of. Also, I wouldn't be opposed to getting together with someone who plays the theremin, but it might get too busy. We'll experiment and see.

I have to get my hands on these, so if any of you know where I could find one, please let me know. There is a reward of OVER 9,000 internets for any information directly resulting in me obtaining a vocaloid of my very own. Or a theremin player. BUT MOSTLY A VOCALOID!

I just bought the Miku Hatsune vocaloid on eBay. I hope it gets here soon. It should provide a good base for what I'm looking for. I can always add filters to suit what I'm going for, but it will help me add something to the music that I couldn't do on my own.

Christ, I'm so excited about playing around with this.
