Dear Stephen Spielberg

In May, you're going to be giving me what I might just consider a personal birthday present in the form of Indiana Jones 4. Thank you for this. I'm really looking forward to it.

However, you do this, and then you announce that you're turning Ghost in the Shell into a live action movie. I don't know how to react to this. It's my favorite anime. It's deeply philosophical, and doesn't lend itself well to movies. Even the <i>anime</i> movies kind of fall short. I've been a big fan of yours for years. E.T., Duel, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan... all of the Indiana Jones movies. I love those movies. But please, keep it true to the material. Let Mr. Shirow have a say in your movie if at all possible.
