roflcopter_down Jul. 23rd, 2006 01:25 am)I made another attempt at a paper mache AK-47 for my Otakon costume. Six hours it took. SIX. HOURS. The end result looked like Chewbacca's ass and it ended up falling apart when I picked it up anyway.
I bought sheets of styrofoam that I thought would be strong enough. Plenty of glue, paper bags, paint and brushes. Put it all together, using the airsoft AK-101 as a model (they're the same size, the only difference is the 101 fires 5.56 rounds and has black furniture while the A47 fires 7.62 rounds and has wood furniture). Picked it right up and the pistol grip broke the fuck off.
How the fuck am I going to do this?
