I just realized that the internet is probably the greatest argument against anarchy. I mean, it's all fine and good for the internet because the stakes are low. This is computerland, where we can be as petty and terrible as we want and nobody gets hurt (unless you're dealing with serious whackjobs). It's the only place I see anarchy working.

Now put it in the real world, where the stakes are much higher and you can actually hurt people. I really don't want to live in the real world like I do on the internet. I'm such a jerk that I wouldn't last a day.

I've just been thinking about the nature of the internet lately, I guess because I've been watching so much Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
