I just heard a rumor that Hayden Christienson has been cast as Case for the Neuromancer movie. It's as if people who make science fiction movies don't pay attention to their audience enough to know which actors science fiction fans want to see in movies and which ones they want to lynch.

Hayden Christienson does not make a good Case. When I heard about a Neuromancer movie, I got into a discussion about casting for it. As much as I hate to say it, Nicolas Cage is Case.

The idea of Hayden Christienson as Case really pisses me off. I can't wait to see who they'll cast as Molly. If the casting directors are on as much crack as they seem to be, Molly will be played by Christina Ricci.

This aggression will not stand.

No, They could cast Angelina Jolie or Milla Jovovich. But it will be Jessica Alba... Or Jennifer Garner...

Even though I have a huge celebricrush on Milla Jovovich, I'm sick of seeing her in action movies. She should do a psychological thriller or something. Jennifer Garner might be able to do it. She's done action, and if they portray Molly right, I can definitely see her doing well in the role. I haven't seen Jessica Alba do anything but Damsel In Distress type roles. Molly is one of my favorite fictional characters ever, and I hope that if nothing else, they do her justice.

Jessica Alba was The Invisible Girl, that was kind of actiony. I always envisioned Molly as kind of Asian in her features... and there really isn't any actress that fits her description in my mind. Case... I never imagined him as much of anything, so I really can't suggest anyone. Though Hayden Christiansen is not someone I want to see having sex with anyone on screen... ever. But casting directors always fuck it up, you know... I mean... Keanu Reeves... Constantine? Val Kilmer & George Clooney as Batman? Oy.

It would be nice to see Milla in something other than an action movie. I think that last film I saw her in where she wasn't kicking ass & taking names was Return to the Blue Lagoon. What does that tell you? I don't like Jennifer Garner, Juno spoiled her for action for me. Charlize Theron made a nice Aeon Flux... she could do Molly.

Charlize Theron could do Molly really well. I really liked her in Aeon Flux. I think Kate Beckinsale might do well, too, if she can pull off the attitude.

I WILL STAB A BITCH. >O

That is all.

Isn't it a fucking crime?! He needs to be banned from movies. His brand of forced, awkward overacting should be limited only to daytime network soap operas.

From: [identity profile] zombiesmut.livejournal.com

Not to mention he's WAY too young and pretty. He doesn't look like someone who's had to have organs replaced. >P Case needs to look somewhat fucked up, not be the object of fangirling for his pretty face.

>O FUCKHEADS, READ THE FUCKING DESCRIPTIONS.

Sorry, this is one of my favorite books, which is totally your fault. Jennifer Garner has the right build for Molly, but not quite the right... facial shape and look. She's too sweet looking. Molly needs to be small but look hardcore.

Yeah, which is why I hate to admit that Nicolas Cage would make an awesome Case. I hate Nicolas Cage, but I at least know that he can DO Case.

Molly is a futuristic battle vixen meets Jersey White Trash hardcore. William Gibson actually has an actress that he said he would love to play Molly, but I forgot her name, and she might be too old for the role by now.

Yeah that... doesn't really work. To be fair, I think more of his poor performance had to do with George Lucas' inability to direct actors, and every so often an actor surprises you but... yeah. Not really seeing it work.

That's irrelevent though, what we should truly be thinking about is casting for the Finn. For what it's worth I think John Hurt is an interesting choice.

It's funny, when I read through Neuromancer, I always imagine the Finn as William Gibson himself. John Hurt would make an awesome Finn.

Hayden Christiensen has shown no improvement in any of his other roles. I've only heard horrible things about him in Jumper and Awake. I don't know why, but I still want to see Jumper.
